In Argentina, the Chamber of Deputies is elected via a proportional representation (PR) system. In PR elections, votes are cast (not for specific candidates, as they are in single-member plurality systems, but for political parties) and then tabulated; each qualifying party is awarded a number of seats proportional to the number of votes it received.
