To study the ultrafast movements of atoms, chemist Ahmed Zewail had to devise a novel spectroscopy technique capable of measuring chemical reactions ________ within molecules at a quadrillionth of a second. Ultimately, Zewail succeeded and was eventually honored with the Robert A. Welch Award and the Albert Einstein World Award of Science for this groundbreaking achievement.
