As technology has advanced, many countries have sought to gain an advantage in, or even control parts of, space and its celestial bodies. ______ it is the 1967 Outer Space Treaty—signed by Austria, Finland, and over 100 other nations—that curtails these ambitions and ensures that space remains a neutral place for the international community.
