The unconventional literary philosophy with which Fernando Pessoa approached his writing is manifested in the Portuguese poet's "heteronyms," his term for the dozens of fictional personas in whose voices he authored many of his among these personas was Ricardo Reis, author of classical odes in a Horatian style.
