When historian John Irwin founded the Museum of Appalachia in Clinton, Tennessee, in the 1960s, it consisted of just a single log structure. Today, it is a 65-acre living history museum featuring vast collections of folk art, including carvings, textiles, and Arnwine Cabin, one of thirty-five historic log buildings on the property; and a re-created pioneer-era Appalachian farm.
