After sample A0106 was retrieved from the asteroid Ryugu, a portion of it was subjected to an extraction protocol in which small amounts of pulverized material were rinsed, sequentially, with hexane, dichloromethane, methanol, and finally a mixture of dichloromethane and methanol. Each rinse created a separate extract suitable for spectral analysis. Based on the table, both alkane and dimethyl sulfide compounds must have been present in the pulverized sample before the methanol-only extraction, because
