The Greek dramatist Euripides's Cyclops, a satyr play, is an extant work: it can still be read. By contrast, lost works like Euripides's play about the hero Alcmaeon, Alcmaeon in Psophis -no copy of which exists- [Blank] known to antiquarians only through references in extant works.
