Folk and traditional art can take a wide variety of forms, including arts as one another as storytelling and quilting. The National Heritage Fellowship was created to honor people for their accomplishments in these diverse arts and includes among its winners the Puerto Rican stringed-instrument maker Diomedes Matos.
