Space scientist Allison Barto is excited about the potential of the new James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). Unlike its predecessor, the Hubble Telescope, the JWST is primarily an infrared telescope. Most light from distant galaxies is infrared; the JWST can provide Barto and her team much more information about these galaxies than the Hubble could.
