If you were to view the Ol Kokwe volcano in Kenya or the Asavyo volcano in Ethiopia from above, you might notice that their low profiles and gently sloping sides make each of them look a bit like a shield lying flat on the ground. _____ volcanologists classify volcanoes of this type as shield volcanoes.
