Before the first railroads were built in Australia, engineers warned against using multiple track widths across the continent. ______ regional officials couldn't agree on a single-width system. Thus, railways in Victoria, like the Victorian Goldfields Railway, were made using wide tracks, while those in New South Wales were built with narrow tracks.
