Founded in New York City in 1904, the Hispanic Society of America is dedicated to the arts and cultures of Spanish-speaking and Portuguese-speaking regions around the world, including those in Latin America. Since its founding, it has acquired more than 18,000 objects for its permanent collection. More recently founded US-based institutions devoted to Latino cultures include the Latino Cultural Center. Located in Dallas, it focuses on Latino cultures and art in the United States.
