In 1845, the United States District Court for the state of Iowa was established. Initially, the court's jurisdiction was a single district that encompassed the entire state, but as Iowa's population grew, this single district began to struggle to serve the needs of everyone in the state. ________ the court's jurisdiction was subdivided into two districts, each with its own district court.
