Jordan's constitution, enacted in 1952, contains just one of the six constitutional features that enhance judicial independence, as identified by legal scholars James Melton and Tom Ginsburg. After 1985, such de jure judicial independence became more prevalent, as exemplified in Croatia's constitution, enacted in 1991 and four of these features.
