The editors of Home Ground: A Guide to the American Landscape turned to Arturo Longoria, a nonfiction writer, to craft the entry for "arroyo," a term referring to the bed of an intermittently dry stream or creek. For "lek," however, the editors chose the author of The Very Rich Hours.
