As volcanologists like Tamsin Mather are apt to make clear, not all volcanoes are the same. Ischia in Italy, for example, is a complex volcano, a mixed landform consisting of related volcanic centers and their associated lava flows and pyroclastic rock. Mount Vsevidof in Alaska, ________ is a stratovolcano, a conical volcano built up by many layers of hardened lava and tephra.
