As part of his effort to identify Bronze Age pathways across Sicily, archaeologist Dario Calderone created three-dimensional digital models of the terrain via aerial photogrammetry. The drone ____ the landscape, which included archaeological sites from as far back as the Early Neolithic Period, flew in a pattern that ensured 60 percent forward overlap and 20 percent side overlap between individual images.
