While researching a topic, a student has taken the following notes:
- 1905: US astronomer Percival Lowell begins searching beyond Neptune for a mysterious planet he calls "Planet X."
- 1916: Lowell dies but leaves money to upgrade his observatory.
- 1929: A new telescope is built at the observatory.
- February 1930: Observatory assistant Clyde Tombaugh records the first photographic evidence of Planet X.
- March 1930: Astronomers rename Planet X, calling it Pluto to honor Lowell (the first two letters are Lowell's initials, PL).
