The Mole has just been found by a companion after wandering in the forest. Snow is beginning to fall.
The Mole looked at the wood that had seemed so frightening to him and saw it in a very different way. Holes, dips, puddles, traps, and other dangers to a traveler were quickly disappearing, and a bright blanket was spreading everywhere, looking too delicate for heavy feet to step on.
