To make his textiles, artist Porfirio Gutiérrez uses a natural dyeing method, a process that includes multiple steps. ______ the Texas paintbrush or another dye-making material is soaked in water to release its color. Second, the textile is added to the heated dyebath and simmered until the Texas paintbrush's brown color has transferred into the cloth.
