In recent years, the English writer Ann Yearsley (1753–1806), whose poetry was widely read during her lifetime, has been rediscovered by contemporary audiences—a resurgence of interest that is largely due to literary scholars such as Stacey McDowell, whose work ______ the richness of Yearsley's poems and the poet's historical importance to the Romantic literary movement encourages a broader rethinking of British Romanticism itself.
