Just as the state of New York has a designated state flower, tree, and bird, it also has a state soil: Honeoye soil. Honeoye is a fitting choice for state soil, in large part because it can be found in abundance across the state. it plays an important role in New York's agricultural industry and is used to grow a variety of crops, like corn and soybeans.
